Azizye is a Turkish restaurant serving traditional Turkish food, set within the Azizye Mosque in Stoke Newington.
Shown here is the Adana Kebab. The meat contained tiny pieces of cartilage which is often seen when low quality mince meat is used. As such the mince had a raw meaty taste and texture which was unappealling to the taste buds. The price was also on the steep end for Stoke Newington; we’ve had cheaper and better meals in central London.
The Chicken Pide lacked seasoning and had an after taste which was unpleasant.
The humous wasn’t as velvety in texture as you would hope but nonetheless appetising.
Having heard rave reviews about Azizye, we had high hopes. Unfortunately, on this occasion we were left disappointed.
A 15% service charge was added to the bill which you wouldn’t even expect from a fine dining establishment; the service wasn’t even outstanding; mediocre at best. The only positive to mention is that the place has private booths to sit and enjoy your meal in privacy with traditional floor seating but not so comfortable if you are tall.
